Underglaze Formula

Underglaze Formula - Range is cone 04- through cone 13

Test all formulas before large-scale use. This formula may be shared with others as long as you credit the author. Wear a dust mask and follow all safety. directions.

Underglaze:

This make 1 gal of dry mix

Silica 325 mesh. 600

Nepheline Syenite. 500

EPK (Kaolin) 400

OM4 (Ball Clay) 400

Borax 100

Bentonite 120

Epson Salts 10

Macaloid Bentonite 42

Epson Salts and Borax may need to be ground to a fine powder; I use a mortar and pestle.

Clear Base Glaze - Cone 6 OX. #7 (High Calcium- good for mason stains)

G-200 Feldspar (soda). 23

Laguna Borate 12

Silica. 20

EPK- (Kaolin) 16

Dolomite 6

Whiting 12
